Limenas
Limenas is the main archaeological locality of theisland where everyone can admire the ancient Conservatoire of Iraklis, of Posidonas and also of Dionyssos, the ancient theatre and the impressive ruins of foundations of temple of Athina. Also at thelength of south-western side of the wall, we pass through the Gate of Silinos, the Gate of Iraklis, the Gate of Dionyssos and the gates of Ira.
The archeological museum
In the archaeological museum, exceptional statues are exposed , ceramic, currencies and vessels which have been founded in Thassos
. Important architectural elements, remarkable examples of ceramics, sculptures, statues, figures of various periods, currencies, embossed plates, amphora and a wide variety from other vessels and things allow us to shape an idea for the institutions, and the customs of residents of the island at the duration of ancient years.
Ancient Theatre
From the small harbour a paved street leads to the ancient theatre of Thassos, to the northern side of the island. The sharpness and the cultivated artistic sense of the islanders made sure that the theatre of 5th century bc would was built in this natural cavity, with panoramic view of the sea, proof of increased perception of Thassians as far as arts and culture is concerned. The theatre had a capacity 2 or 3 thousands spectators.Nowadays tragedies are presented to us each summertime and to cultural events.
Beaches
Apart from the beach of Limenas, within a distance 5klm marvellous sandy beaches are extended, as the beach of Tarzanas,Papalimani, Pachis, the beach of Makryammoy and the Golden beach. Each beach is particular with different style where the clean and blue waters in combination with the green landscape charm also the most exigent visitor.
